Who We Are 

Dr. April Minjarez, Ph.D, LMFT

Dr. Minjarez is a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and California Licensed Clinical Psychologist, receiving her PhD in 2016. With over 20 years of experience, she currently serves as a clinician on a military installation, working exclusively with active-duty service member and their families.


She has extensive experience in behavioral health settings, including residential care, crisis shelters, child abuse programs, homeless shelters, military settings, and acute crisis stabilization units.  Dr. Minjarez has years of experience working with clients at all stages of human development, from newborns to elders, and has always practiced in culturally diverse settings.


Her clinical expertise and direction have always been focused on trauma, including child abuse, sexual assault, combat trauma, loss, violence, and clients with long histories of multiple traumatic experiences.  

Dr. Minjarez has served as an EMDR therapy consultant for clinicians across two branches of the military and three specialty programs.  She is well-versed in EMDR therapy across the lifespan and across multi-cultural and socio-economic populations and she takes pride in bringing EMDR training to new clinicians, thereby enabling enhanced treatment for clients in their quest for healing.
