Joyce DeVera, MS, LMFT

Joyce is an Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her Bachelors in Psychology from San Diego State University in 1998, a Masters in Accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2009, and a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix in 2015.  Joyce has had a successful career in Accounting with over 20 years of experience.

However, her passion to help people heal, grow and find greater meaning in life motivated her to go back to school to become a professional mental health counselor.  Through her years of training, Joyce has diversified her therapeutic experience to include drug rehabilitation, school-based programs (elementary through community college), homeless families, and grief and loss, previously working at Elizabeth Hospice.

Her specialities include helping individuals with trauma-based experiences using EMDR therapy.  With the required 3000 clinical hours completed, Joyce will soon take the California Board of Behavioral Sciences Marriage & Family Therapist licensing examination. With her vast life experience, her heart for helping people, her integrity and extensive training, Joyce guides her clients through the healing process to a greater and more fulfilling life experience.

Outside of work, Joyce is a mother of a 20 year-old daughter, along with her ‘spoiled’ dog and cat.  She loves live music, learning to golf, long walks, and spending time with friends and family.
